Mouth ulcers, also known as canker sores, are painful lesions that can develop on the inside of the cheeks, lips, tongue, or the soft palate. Typically, these ulcers heal on their own within a week or two. Over-the-counter topical gels and rinses can provide relief from pain and promote faster healing. However, if ulcers persist, recur frequently, or are unusually large, it’s essential to consult a healthcare professional as they could indicate an underlying health issue that needs attention.
